Treat yourself and your pet to an outdoor vacation in Lake Arrowhead. Within the San Bernardino Mountains, the lakefront community welcomes your furry friends to enjoy a mountain getaway with you. The mountain hiking trails are a nice change from the average walk in the park. Roam around the lake, enjoy a great meal with your pet and stay at a comfy cabin with it’s own yard. Lake Arrowhead offers a variety of activities, restaurant and accommodations for you and your pets to enjoy.

Dog Friendly Activities in Lake Arrowhead

Metate Hiking Trail
Start your morning with a brisk nature walk a the Metate Hiking Trail. Also known as the Rock Camp Trail/ Indian Rock trail, the 1-mile hike is an easy walk through grassy woodlands. The trail starts east of Rock Camp Station on Highway 173, just north of Lake Arrowhead. It is popular amongst cyclist, but often overlooked by hikers. The shallow incline makes it a breeze for all hikers, including your pets.

Cedar Glen Inn
Cruise down Highway 173 for breakfast at Cedar Glen Inn, a cozy diner that dishes up a variety of classic American fare. A hidden gem to most, but a favorite among locals, it’s a go-to place for breakfast, dinner, and everything in between. The food has a homemade straight-from-your-mama’s kitchen feel that satisfies your taste buds and makes you feel warm all over. Try the “country combo,” a combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes and savory breakfast goodness all on one plate.

Lake Arrowhead Village
Take some time to explore the famous Lake Arrowhead Village. On the edge of Lake Arrowhead, the village is the hub for shopping, food, dining, and fun in the legendary mountain town. Stroll the shores of Lake Arrowhead, shop around for a souvenir and enjoy the surrounding mountain views. All of these activities can be done with your four-legged friend. If you feel like treating your pet to an extra special experience, stop by Three Dog Bakery. The pet-friendly bakery serves up all-natural, handmade dog treats and dog food. You can pick up a freshly baked treat or a fun new toy for your furry loved one.

Plus, their outdoor patio offers great panoramic views of the lake.

North Shore National Recreation Trail
Opt for an afternoon of adventure on the North Shore National Recreation Trail. Along the north shore of Lake Arrowhead, the 1.6-mile hiking trail travels down through the San Bernardino Mountains. The trail starts right behind the North Shore Campground and trails Little Bear Creek. It’s a downhill journey, so following the trail back is an uphill trek. Despite its increasing level of difficulty, it is an easily accessible trail for most individuals and their pets.

LouEddies Pizza
Savor a delicious slice of pizza at LouEddie’s Pizza. Along Highway 18, the mountainside pizzeria lies along the edge of the forest in a historic rustic log cabin, built in 1923. Fun Fact: in 2015, it was listed as a restaurant in Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in 2015. Just 5 minutes from Lake Arrowhead, the pizza cabin dishes up hand-tossed artisanal pizzas and fresh gourmet salads.
